Four rooms, one gate, nobody else on site.
Hire Marrow Barn and you take the whole thing: the barn, the walled courtyard, the orchard and the snug, plus the meadow behind. There is one booking a day, so nothing is shared and nothing is timed around somebody else's speeches.
The Barn
Thirty two metres end to end, with a stone floor laid on top of underfloor heating and an oak frame that has been standing since 1673. The cart doors at the west end open fully, which is where the ceremony happens and where the confetti photograph gets taken.
It seats 140 for dinner with a dance floor, or 180 standing. Festoon lighting runs the length of the frame and dims to almost nothing, so the room changes character at about nine in the evening.

The Courtyard
Old brick and lime render on three sides, with a loggia along the south wall that seats forty under cover. This is where drinks happen, where the food van parks in the evening, and where people end up talking long after they meant to go back in.
It gets sun from about eleven until seven in June. In winter we put the braziers out and it still gets used.

The Orchard
Planted in the sixties and pruned properly since 2020. There are eleven varieties in here, most of them local: Blenheim Orange, Ashmead's Kernel and a couple of cookers nobody has been able to name.
Outdoor ceremonies happen under the largest tree with an oak arbour we built from a fallen beam. It is also, without much argument, the best place on the site to be photographed at seven in the evening.

The Snug
Flagstones, a wood burner and a ceiling you will duck under if you are over six foot. It was the dairy when this was a working farm and the cold slab is still along the north wall.
Couples use it for small ceremonies, for a quiet half hour before the speeches, and as the room where grandparents sit when the music gets loud. Away day groups use it for breakouts.

Seated figures assume round tables of ten with a top table and a dance floor. Long tables seat about eight per cent more, and we will draw your layout to scale before you commit to numbers.

There is always a plan B, agreed in advance.
Every booking gets a wet weather plan written down at the planning meeting: where the ceremony moves to, where drinks happen, and who makes the call. That call is made at 9am on the day by you and the coordinator together, and once it is made we set the room and stop debating it.
The barn and the loggia between them will hold everybody, so a wet day is a different day rather than a ruined one. Three of the weddings we liked best last year were soaked.
