Wheatley Road, Stanton St John.

Fifteen minutes from Oxford city centre, eight from junction 8 of the M40, and about a mile past the point where your satnav stops being confident. The turning is between two stone gateposts with a wooden sign on the left.

Getting here

Three ways, and what they cost.

By car

Eight minutes from junction 8 of the M40 and fifteen from the Oxford ring road. Use OX33 1HF and then look for the wooden sign on Wheatley Road, roughly half a mile after the village hall. Parking for 60 cars on hardstanding, free, stewarded for events. Cars can stay overnight.

By train

Oxford Parkway is 20 minutes away by road, Oxford station 25. Both have taxi ranks. Trains from London Marylebone to Oxford Parkway take about an hour, and we can arrange a minibus for groups of eight or more at £65 each way.

By taxi or bus

A taxi from Oxford station is roughly £30 and takes 25 minutes. The 280 bus stops in Stanton St John, which is a fifteen minute walk with no pavement for the last stretch, so we would not send guests that way after dark.

Somewhere to stay

Sixteen beds here, plenty more nearby.

The Hayloft and the shepherd's huts sleep sixteen between them, which usually covers the wedding party. Everything else is within ten minutes by car, and the Talbot will hold a block of rooms for you if you ask them early.

The Hayloft, on site0 milesTwo rooms above the cart shed, sleeps four. Included with some packages.

Enquiry

Check your date.

The quickest way to find out whether we are free. Give us a first choice and a second, and we will reply with what is actually in the diary rather than an invitation to book a call.

One reply, from a person. We do not add you to a mailing list.

Sent. We will check the diary.

You will get a reply within one working day telling you whether the date is free, and if it is not, which nearby dates are.

If you asked for the price guide it will come in the same email.

Brochure

Or start with the paperwork.

The brochure is a 24 page PDF: floor plans with dimensions, the full price list, our caterers, a sample running order and the terms in plain English. There is a printed copy too, if you would rather have something to spread out on a kitchen table.

It goes out as a link the same day. Nobody rings you afterwards unless you ask us to.

Ask for the brochure

Also the right form for a general question.

We never ask for payment details by email or on the phone.

On its way.

The PDF will land in your inbox shortly, and a printed copy goes in tomorrow's post if you asked for one.

If you left a question, Kate will answer it properly rather than sending you a template.

Or just turn up to a viewing

Tuesday to Saturday, ten until four.

Ring first so somebody is there to open the gate, and bring anyone who is helping you decide. Dogs are welcome on the lead, and there are usually two of ours already in the courtyard.
